Onion Rings Hack

Onion Rings Hack

If you’re craving onion rings but don’t want the breading, deep frying, or mess, this simple hack is about to become a favorite. A layer of Parmesan cheese bakes into a crispy, golden crust while sweet yellow onions become tender and caramelized. The result is a savory, cheesy bite that’s packed with flavor and surprisingly satisfying. It’s perfect as a snack, side dish, or even chopped up and added to a salad or burger bowl.

Ingredients~

1 cup shredded Parmesan cheese

1 yellow onion, thinly sliced

Light spritz of olive oil

Seasoning of choice (I used a salt, pepper, and garlic blend)

Instructions~

Preheat oven to 400°F.

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Evenly spread the shredded Parmesan into a thin layer.

Arrange the thinly sliced onion rings over the Parmesan.

Lightly spritz with olive oil.

Season as desired.

Bake for 18–20 minutes, watching closely during the last few minutes to prevent burning. The Parmesan should be golden brown and crispy.

Let cool for several minutes before lifting from the parchment. Enjoy warm!

A Few Tips~

The thinner you slice the onion, the better it will cook and crisp. Letting the Parmesan cool slightly is the secret to getting those crispy edges without the cheese sticking. Feel free to experiment with your favorite seasonings: Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, ranch seasoning, or even a little crushed red pepper all work beautifully.

Simple recipes like this prove that real food doesn’t have to be complicated to be delicious. With just a handful of ingredients, you can create a crunchy, flavorful alternative to traditional onion rings that’s perfect for sharing, or keeping all to yourself.
